B.E.N.(Bored Enough to go Nutty)'s lament
(Sang to the tune of lemon tree)

I'm sitting in here in the boring room
       Just another air conditioned afternoon
I'm wasting my time I got nothing to do
Hanging around just waiting for 206 days to pass away
But nothing ever happens... and I wonder~

I wonder how I wonder why yesterday they put me in the army and all that I could say is that I have medical problems. (tutitutitutituti...)
Turning my legs up and down turning turning turning turning around but all that they could see was another chao keng kia~ (a.k.a trying to run away from army boy)
(tutitutitutitu *ting!)

Dadadadadatidada dadadadatidada dadididaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa~

(tutututu *ting)

Soooo I wonder when I wonder where the army is going to finally let me go coz all that I can see (doot doot) all that I can see (doot doot) all that I can see is just another TV Screennnnnn... (101 channels and nothing good on, sigh.)

Man you gotta love those arnie flicks :). Imagine the script writing:

Script for Arnie.
"Rghhhh...."
Throw opponent through wall.
"Arrrghhh..."
"BARRGHGH!!!"
"RGH!"
Repeat.

He doesn't need to talk anymore man, but even when he does it's comical "DA CHEELDREN! THEY DIE BECOZ OF U U TERREROORIZT SCUMMBARGH! I RIP YOUR ARMS OFF AND BEET U WITH DEM! AND THEN I KEEL U UNTIL U DIE FROM IT!!!"
I rest my case. Arnie, you are the best action hero ever.
Sigh another dull dull day...

Ello everyone!

I just had my operation on the leg, wow this was the first one that gave so much pain that I had to get pumped full of painkillers when I just woke up. Well after 5 days the pain is more or less gone. I'm still not about to risk going out yet, the last op I went out and my leg expended to like double the size and went to play basketball... it was rather... stupid of me :P.

During this time I managed to fix up my uni course to what I wanted, I didn't know how liberal the units were. So now I can study how to write, film, music, digital media and ugh commerce. Commerce is sooo dull :S, but no choice la need that biz ed to be credible (Read up on it, I tell you it's smoke and bs). This way I manage to squeeze in the skills I need to make movies, games and still be able to learn some guitar and vocal techniques. I hope I will still have time to have fun, I've never been good at this "mugging" I hear so much about...:P

Wow I think I've figured out why I've hit my guitar glass ceiling. I ain't good enuff in my music theory (Which is a pain in the butt btw.) I know chords, boxes and the basics, so those professional guitarists call it faking it. A.k.a. no idea what all those knarly music terms mean. So it's back to basics school for Ben Phua. Blur sia.

Wow mean girls turned out to be less chick flick than I thought. In fact it's 90 percent anti-girl stardom (probably written by some hollywood dude as revenge against the female sex or something).

Been learning a whole bunch of jazz chords, what in the world is a diatonic 7th or being inherent to C major? Top it off jazz purists would want a humble student of such a grand style of playing to pick up teeny little picks (about the size of your fingernail) and change their gauges of string to these massive TUBES of metal which leave little valleys of pain running across your fingers. The electric purists would love for me to buy some funky effects pedals, you can see the burn holes in my pockets where the money took a vacation from my wallet to the music store's cash register... Now if I could get my parents to get me a nice hollow body guitar with a few analog pedals...

Ok ok distracted back to arpeggios...espressios...daddyios. Gimme a few more years I'll show you some of my west coast jazz/blues diminished 7th flat companion of the C major. I'll see you when I'm 40.

Today I nearly ran out of breath to live, my body seemed to want to die. Just minutes ago my sinuses were completely clogged up and I had trouble breathing. I nearly collapsed from who knows what, slumping my head to the table. Fortunately, a thought formed in my mind to switch on the computer and read through today's daily bread.

You've heard it a thousand times before but it never seems to register. We find out strength through his spirit. I thought at first that my feeling down was due to my unhealthy lifestyle these few months, but it was because of my slowly dying spiritual inner man which was running out of fuel due to not reading the scripture, talking to God and fellowship with other believers. I learnt today that to be truely christian I cannot just do 2 out of 3 or 1 out of 3 and be able to fuel my soul. At first I didn't want to think that my relationship with God required refueling and that I could continue with my works on the same energy that he gave me so many months ago. I was obviously wrong, my mistake was thinking that I could handle my problems on my own. Unfortunately, Ben without God is actually a really intolerant fellow who's emotions are often negative and hates alot of people. I now know that to complete my life's mission as well as become the person that God wants me to be, not to mention the person that I want to be, I have to constantly refuel my soul with scripture, talks with God and fellowship with my christian friends. And telling my intolerant and angry man to die off with my past. My personal victory is that I have come to terms with myself that my past is a uniquely shaped disaster which has given me the ability I need. My biggest mistake was allowing other people and their comments/ actions affect my emotional state. While I am sad that they would do so, I understand now that these things are beyond my control and the best course of action would be to pray for them and let such petty things slide in contrast to the big picture, unity amongst christians.

I can only pray and hope that I will not become so weak and vulnerable to this world and it's comforts. But I still find it so hard to forgive all the people that have caused me pain. I can only pray that God will give me that ability.

Just running through last week's sermon notes. I really should have gone up to Pastor Malcom and thanked him for such a great sermon. I wonder if people say that to him often, next time I see him I should mention it (Remember!).

The things that hit me the most was:

First, our souls might be saved, but we must not fall into the pit of a wasted life.

Second, was the necessity of having a living relationship with God. This leads to being able to reconcile and have a living relationship with your own parents, which would be nice.

Third, how we must not live just to fulfill our own needs rather, we should ask God how to be a blessing unto others!

One of my greatest joys is knowing that our Lord is consistent and will never change. Thank God for his unconditional love and his great risk and his sacrifice of his son for us, for me.

Heart, soul and might.
I watched spider-man today, by the grace of God I didn't have to go watch it by myself. It was really a great show, hopefully I'll get a chance to watch it again if I have the money :S.
