Day 11 of Post Op. Went back to camp to endorse MC and see how everyone is doing. Then played WoW.
WoW is really sapping my energy, I really should just stop playing. Put on all the weight I lost I think.

Day 7. While my situation isn't the best, it's interesting for me from a psychology student's point of view to see why some people blog at all. But that's mostly a personal thought.
Somehow by using a series of massage techniques, I have managed to almost rid myself of all pains in my back. Hopefully if I refrain from movement for a few days, this pain will subside.
Leg still won't bend all the way and I can feel a muscle beginning to pull every time I try to bring the leg inwards. The leg cracks inside when I rotate it, I think it has something to do with the holding stitches still inside the leg.
My thoughts now come to the coming fact that I will have to go back to camp next tuesday and if the M.O. and Medical board do go my way, then no problems I can just stay at home and occupy myself some how.
If they don't, then I have come to accept the fact that I don't think my parents will be able to send me to and fro every possible day. Public transport, stairs, escalators, rain. All possible ways that might injure me further, I have to be very careful over the coming 2 months.

This holiday is more boring than I expected. Watched 2 seasons of 24 and my back for some reason is hurting a lot. Currently icing it and don't think I shall be getting up for another day. Leveled up to 43 for WoW (Which has totally lost it's appeal..) and still have another 2 seasons of 24 to watch before I go bother my mates for 2nd season of Lost and The OC.
Can't wait for a holiday when my friends are actually ON holiday rather than being stuck in camp all the time.

Day 5 of being bed ridden. Season 2 of 24.
So I got my stitches removed and a water proof pair of bandages placed so I can bathe more easily. The leg is still swollen up and I don't know how much weight I can put on it, it's not something I havn't dealt with before but I worry about my back, apparently I may have caused some fractures in it thanks to my delusive thinking that my inferior body can handle what my mind wants it to. Put things in perspective, I'm still blessed with many things and it's not like I havn't dealt with this kind of thing before.
So I'm heading back to the army on the 29th, it would be best to deal with this situation by the book and talk to everyone that needs to know and finally talking to the medical officer and hopefully be able to get a medical board some time soon, as I recall medical boards occur at the first week of each month, so if I'm quick I should be able to set up the board before I have to stay in limbo for the rest of the year.
Not that I'm complaining about having to serve again, I really don't mind the service in my unit as it's a pretty nice place once you get used to it. But the risk of injury, stairs, distance and not to mention the inconvenience of transportation is going to be a problem which has to be resolved.
Downloading the WoW patch now so I can have another source of time wasting. Need to discipline myself to read my books and try and wobble around in the crutches without bringing harm to my foot, don't want that meniscus to pop out again. But need to stay in shape or I'm going to gain weight fast.
Well it's back to watching 24. Great show.

Hi everybody,
I havn't been updating this webby for a long time but since I'm stuck in bed now I thought I'd try to make this spot more lively for a change.
So my trip back was eventful, after packing my room full of stuff (which took me a week and probably close to 18 boxes) and having a bit of a break in Perth, I headed back to Singapore with my huge bag which was amazingly just under 25 kg (25 being the limit before you have to pay 15 dollars per kilo), my mate wasn't as lucky. He ended up throwing away clothes, sending stuff to his friend's house and spending 150 dollars on an extra 10 kilos.
So after a day back in Singapore I ended up having to fix my knee because of a torn meniscus. On the same day of getting the x-ray I ended up having to undergo the operation. No fun for Ben for the next few days...
Clubbing was pretty fun though if not short, wish I could have had more time to play before my leg screwed up. Met the guys for soccer on Sat, watched a bunch of games~where Chelsea pwned Newcastle~ It's too bad we missed the goals coz we were channel surfing :P

The Characteristic of genuine heroism is its persistency. All men have wandering impulses, fits and starts of generosity. But when you have resolved to be great, abide by yourself and do not weakly try to reconcile yourself with the world. The heroic cannot be the common, nor the common the heroic. Ralph Waldo Emerson
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. Our Deepest Fear
