6 more days till the beginning of army. More importantly, 38 days till the end of national service liability. Trying to get my body back in shape before the day comes.

I accepted something today. No matter how self centred this sounds, my mental and physical health depends on me giving up the old life in Singapore which screwed me up so badly that I find it so hard to keep my spirits up.
I don't want to call myself a Singaporean anymore.
People say I'm snobbish.Fine I can accept that if you answer my questions.
Why can't everyone just see the BIG PICTURE?
At the end of the day you are going to die. All you can hope to do is live by your own principles.
Why must Singaporeans always have to compete with one another to be better? Do you think you will leave this world a better place by fighting each other, laughing at weaker people. To win is to enjoy the fruits of your training and perseverence while still being able to share some concern for the competition. All this fighting and forcing people to do things harder faster and better, what in the world does it prove at the end of the day?
Why must Singaporeans always worry so much about their own problems? If you need to do something do it. Life is too short to worry about all the consequences of living the life you want to live. If it fails, so what? At least you tried. Money isn't everything. Live the life you think will be fulfilling, no matter what that big dark hole in your heart says.
The hateful life that Singaporeans choose to live is miserable. The poor hate the rich. The rich are bored and drive themselves to work harder and study harder because they think if they're more successful, it will matter.
Singapore. Safe. Small. Amazing that we got this far. Fine I give us credit for that.
The next step is learning how to be a PEOPLE. Small things like giving up a seat for a elderly person. Smiling and saying thank you to whatever service you receive. Stop shouting at one another! Give way to the person who just wants to get into the other lane, seriously one car cutting in will not end your life.
Balance your life. You want to be extremely rich and still bring up good children? Strive to ensure that it happens.
Don't be what our culture wants you to be. Get along, share, stop fighting, live a life which will bring good to the world. Whether people notice it or not. At the end of the day, you are how you live.
So I turn from people who don't share my principles? At this age, I promise myself this. I will strive to be what I want the rest of the world to become. I won't tolerate attitudes that hurt others and I won't let others hurt me anymore.
I am me and I will not doubt myself anymore. It's finally time to leave all my past behind, accept that things like those will never change and move on. It's a bright future and I know I can be everything I want this life to be.
